Biswo Poudel is currently the economic advisor to the International Labour Organization (ILO). He is also a visiting Associate Professor at Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM), a member of the board of trustees of the Ullens Education Foundation, and a member of the board of directors of Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower Company. In the past, he had served as a director of Sanima Bank Limited, economist at the Office of Millennium Challenge Nepal, and an economic advisor for the vice chairman of National Planning Commission(NPC). He is also a columnist of Kantipur Daily and occasionally writes for Republica Daily. His researches have been published in noted international journals such as American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Natural Resources Modeling, and Applied Economic Perspectives and Policies.  He holds a PhD degree from the department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California at Berkeley.
